Act I
On a chilly day on January 18, 2038, Doctor Fyro was looking at his Periodic Table and came up with an idea, where he tried to get all 118 elements in his lab at once. He called it Project 118. It was a near-impossible task, considering many of the elements are so radioactive that they decay in seconds. But he didn’t care. He wanted it all in one place at one time, and he was going to do just about anything to achieve that. He started working on the earlier elements and spread the word to a few coworkers.
Doctor Fyro was on his lunch break one day scrolling, when he saw his friend, Doctor Viro, going viral on social media trying to do Project 118 himself. He didn’t like that Viro was stealing his idea for content. But there was nothing he could do, so it became a race to get all 118 elements as quickly as possible as friendly rivals. They scheduled a show where the winner would showcase their achievement.
Eventually, they both got 59 elements each, so they would need each other’s elements to complete the table. However, while Doctor Fyro had the first 59 elements, which were mostly safe, Doctor Viro had the radioactive elements at the end of the table. The deadline for the lab show event was coming too quickly for one of them to make all 118 in time. So, they secretly agreed to mix each other’s mixtures together to get all 118 elements in one bowl. Despite Doctor Fyro’s warnings about safety, Doctor Viro went ahead to sign off on the event and Fyro agreed to come along reluctantly.
On the day of the event, February 18, 2038, they were presenting in the giant lab theatre. They were able to present because of their scientist licenses, but Doctor Viro overlooked the full danger of the experiment. Doctor Fyro noticed Viro’s radioactive mixture was bubbling and evaporating and noticed a faint green mist. He was scared but it was too late to turn back. Viro mixed the radioactive elements into Fyro’s beaker to create a show in the lab. It grew in size, and they ran back, but it was too late. It created a huge explosion that knocked everybody out cold.
Doctor Viro was able to recover quickly as he had built up tolerance from working with radioactive substances previously. He ran to get the drink while the high-tech robots were cleaning everything up and trying to imprison both Doctor Fyro and Doctor Viro for creating this danger and using their licenses illegally. Doctor Viro ran with the radioactive mixture during the chaos and was never to be seen again. Doctor Fyro was soon imprisoned despite his pleas of innocence. The police rushed to research more about the incident.
Act II
10 years later, Doctor Fyro was released from prison after they reduced his sentence since he did not create the chemicals that actually caused the explosion. Meanwhile, even more high-tech robots were working on a secret mission to find Doctor Viro. They believe he looked completely different with a green shade from being exposed to radioactive chemicals for so long. He still kept the radioactive mixture to himself, although much of it had already decayed and caused damage everywhere he went. They were determined to do anything to stop him.
After years of searching, they had found that he was in a secret cave far from the original lab, hiding in isolation. They had sent thousands of robots to his location to get the mixture back and throw Doctor Viro in jail for 118 years. But they still couldn’t find where he was hiding. They needed someone who understood his behavior, so they called Doctor Fyro to help. Fyro used to be friends with Doctor Viro, but now he wanted revenge on Viro for making dangerous decisions that caused him to spend 10 years in jail.
Doctor Fyro thought he knew where Doctor Viro would hide. This is because when they worked together many years ago, Fyro and Viro always used to hide and make dangerous chemicals deep below exactly 118 meters of rock in a cave using Doctor Viro’s secret drilling tool, which Doctor Fyro just happened to bring with him. So, they used it to dig many layers down, and finally they were almost at his exact location. But hearing the sounds of Doctor Fyro and robots, Doctor Viro panicked and entered his secret room he’d been saving for this very moment.
He quickly set himself up there and tried to fight back with all his strength using his secret weapons he’d kept there previously. But both Doctor Fyro and the robots were too strong. Out of pure fear of spending the rest of his life in jail, he threw the radioactive mixture at one of the robots, nearly hitting doctor Fyro. The mixture caused the robot to malfunction. Doctor Fyro and the robots immediately enclosed the room in with a wall of concrete to stop the spread of the mixture.. Unfortunately for Doctor Viro, the mixture stayed on the floor of the enclosed area, and it immediately started evaporating and dissolving his body bit by bit into chemical ashes, and this time, he was truly never to be seen again.
It's January 18th, 2058, 20 years after Project 118 began. With the power of technology, they were able to safely transport Doctor Viro's chemical ashes into a museum, and Project 118 became famous. Today, Doctor Fyro still presents this story in the museum, serving as a cautionary tale about lab safety. This is the story of Project 118.
